In his younger years he built model aircraft
then switched to building cars, as soon as he was old enough to drive, which he raced
& rallied in the fifties.
Born into a Cabinet Making family his standards
are high and builds things to last (he still has some of the cars he built).
He retired from Honeywell to help
his father restore a stately home that had lain derelict for ten years (Duddingston House
- - Built for the Duke of Abercorn in 1763 by Sir William Chambers).
He was half way into the project of cutting a
Range Rover in half & stretching it by 3 ft when he was enticed away to build the
Europa. He now runs a property management business in his spare time. His two daughters
Louise & Melanie and stepdaughter Lynne, have flown the nest and he is now a
grandfather to three granddaughters, Tegan, Aillidh, and Lucy. He lives with his wife
Sheila who, unfortunately, recently developed MS.
